Sabina Babel, JD

Sabina Babel works with healthcare organizations to protect against claims involving traumatic birth injury, pediatrics, failure to diagnose, and other complex matters which often result in significant catastrophic injuries and neurological complications. A partner at Hall Prangle and Schoonveld, LLC, she has extensive practice involving complex litigation, catastrophic event investigation and the evaluation of medical records and their impact on litigation. Sabina has been involved in all aspects of the litigation process, from pre-suit investigations and analysis to post-trial motions and appeals.  

Marilee Clausing, RN, JD

Marilee Clausing is the Managing Partner of the law firm Hall Prangle and Schoonveld, LLC, HPS Advise’s affiliated law firm. Marilee worked as a healthcare provider prior to her legal career, and has used that unique combination of skills to become one of the nation’s leading birth trauma defense attorneys. Marilee is a nationally renowned speaker on obstetric risk management and legal issues.

Katherine Dzik, JD

Katherine Dzik is a partner at Hall Prangle and Schoonveld, whose legal career has focused exclusively on litigating medical malpractice matters, first on behalf of the plaintiff and now on behalf of the defense. This dual perspective allows her to anticipate the plaintiff’s approach. With her litigation background, Kate assists HPS Advise clients in understanding the changing landscape of medical malpractice litigation, particularly as it relates to investigations of catastrophic events and the analysis of records, policies and procedures.

Dave Hall, JD

David Hall is a founding partner of Hall Prangle and Schoonveld, HPS Advise’s affiliated law firm. His expertise encompasses cases involving catastrophic loss, including pediatrics, neurological disability, physical disfigurement and wrongful death. He is a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, and has repeatedly been recognized as a leading lawyer by multiple trade publications. David is also a pilot who owns and flies two aircraft from World War II.

Eric Schoonveld is a founding partner of Hall Prangle and Schoonveld, HPS Advise’s affiliated law firm. He has extensive experience in the defense of hospitals, health systems, providers, pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers, and has been named an Illinois “Super Lawyer” for 15 consecutive years.
